Mauro Daviddi (Bologna, 1966) is an extremely versatile artist who has used his pencil as his passport to a wide-ranging career in illustration and caricature. Known as “Squiz caricaturista”, he is one of Italy’s most sought-after caricaturists. Since 1986 (this year marks 40 years), he has been bringing life to all kinds of events with his three-minute live caricatures. He has been invited onto television and has portrayed several celebrities from the world of entertainment. Furthermore, his passion for photography, cultivated over more than four decades, has resulted in projects that narrate stories and evoke emotions through his unique and personal perspective. As an illustrator, Daviddi boasts extensive and long-standing experience, having collaborated with numerous Italian publishing houses to illustrate a wide range of publications. His expertise and distinctive style have also led him to work internationally, for example with the Japanese broadcasting corporation NHK. In the field of photography, his works have garnered widespread international recognition, with exhibitions in Italian museums and universities, as well as in various European countries (including Spain, Slovenia, and Cyprus), helping to spread the value of his artistic exploration beyond national borders.
